phusia
How is Phusia different than other dance fitness classes?

Phusia is a dance class. Participants have fun dancing through the repetition of the movements specifically choreographed to the music.  Participants master the choreography by dancing to the song in its entirety. This allows participants to get better at the movement and they also happen to get a workout. Phusia also uses a variety of styles, including jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, country, latin and more. There is something for every dance enthusiast. Finally, and maybe most importantly, Phusia classes are taught by qualified dance teachers in dance studios. This gives Phusia the quality control other programs lack allowing the participant who takes Phusia in Boston to have a very similar experience visting Boca Raton. The learning curve is quick, however, not without it’s challenges, as Phusia classes are supplemented with new choreography often. Our instructors all have acces to the same choreography.

Do I need to have danced before I take Phusia?

Now, if you have two left feet, I’m not sure I can help you. However, you don't NEED to have danced to enjoy it. It is definitely for the participant who wants to learn, maybe even be a little challenged in class. Remember, it’s not a dance aerobics class, it’s a dance class and my goal is to get you dancing in a super fun, never done before way! If you’ve had some dance before, well, get ready for a treat. You will catch on quickly, meet like-minded women and have a blast! If you can check your ego at the door then you are guaranteed to have fun.

Why are you trying to market this as a dance class and not an exercise class? It seems like exercise.

As you know, there is a lot of dance aerobics out there and I don’t consider dance aerobics classes to be dance classes. Phusia is unique in that each song is specifically choreographed.  It is also EXCLUSIVELY taught by dance teachers in dance studios. Phusia is definitely different than your typical dance aerobics class. Do your participants get a workout? Absolutely, but that is secondary to learning choreography and having fun.

Teachers - What's in it for me?

Dance should be taught by dance teachers in dance studios.  Together we can get women dancing again without trying to make them amazing dancers.  Women just want to dance.  As instructors it's our job to guide them in the how-to's but more importantly inspire them to dance again, igniting the passion they once had for dance, but had to give up for whatever reason.  Together, Phusia instructors world wide will inspire women, giving them confidence, an escape and most importantly time to connect with something once deeply loved and enjoyed.   The market is there for this class, we just need to let them know something exists for the recreational dancer and Phusia is it!
